For more than 33 years, KCBI has been fulfilling its mission to “Faithfully send forth the Word of God so that it will accomplish His purpose in the hearts and lives of those who receive it.” KCBI is committed to providing “Music and Ministry You Can Trust,” and is passionate about impacting society for Christ.
KCBI prays by name hourly for listeners and members of the military. KCBI General Manager Mike Tirone’s Devotion of the Week blesses more than 2,600 subscribers. November 2009’s premier edition of the KCBI Insider monthly e-zine went to 19,400 listeners. The award-winning KCBI news department offers 17 weekday newscasts from a Christian perspective, as well as Christian News Weekly, which airs on all four Criswell Communications stations and FamilyNet/Sirius 161. Criswell Communications’ syndicated children’s program, the Coconut Hut Radio Show, provides lessons from God’s Word, upbeat music, fun contests and games nationally on 28 outlets, including KCBI.
KCBI also impacts its audience through timely, topical, live, interactive Town Hall broadcasts, such as May’s NRB award-nominated Family Matters: A Forum on the Family. The broadcast was recorded for television and aired on FamilyNet on Sunday, Nov. 29. Dr. Charles Stanley was recently featured on KCBI’s “An Evening With …” series.
KCBI ministry outreach includes providing God’s Word to prisoners through the Prison Bible Drive, sharing the love of Jesus with hospitalized children through “Valentines for Kids” and warmth wrapped in God’s love through the annual “Christmas Care Coat Drive”. KCBI also sent forth God’s Word through more than 1,700 “Faith Comes By Hearing” New Testament audio CDs, distributed as free gifts during our annual “Share” fundraising event.
KCBI meets needs locally and abroad for the cause of Christ. The recent Radio Crux Project, conducted with NRB Strategic Partnerships, raised more than $45,000 toward launching Hope FM Christian radio in Sweden. Gospel for Asia partnerships are helping to rebuild homes for persecuted Christians in Orissa, India, and are extending tangible expressions of Christ’s love to the untouchables in India at Christmas. A recent collaboration with Trans World Radio will help ensure that Benin, West Africa, will continue to receive Christian broadcasts.
God continues using His radio station for His glory. Because of His work through KCBI, prayers are answered, people are saved and the whole counsel of God’s Word is taught daily without compromise.
