The Focus on the Family daily broadcast, which began airing in 1977, is a half-hour radio program that provides encouragement and advice for the family. Hosted by Focus President Jim Daly, Psychologist Juli Slattery and John Fuller, the broadcast – one of today’s most recognized Christian radio programs – has a daily audience of 1.5 million North American listeners on 2,000 U.S. radio stations.

In addition, Focus estimates nearly 238 million people worldwide viewed or listened to one of Focus on the Family's many programs, including Focus on the Family Weekend Magazine™, Adventures in Odyssey®, Family News in Focus®, Plugged In Movie Reviews®, The Boundless Show and Focus on the Family Commentary™, a 90-second feature for general market radio stations. Spanish versions of Focus on the Family and Plugged In Movie Reviews are also available. These programs are seen or heard in 135 countries in 26 different languages.

Focus on the Family is also home to such ministries as Option Ultrasound™, which provides ultrasound equipment and services to pregnancy medical clinics around the world; and the Adoption & Orphan Care Initiative™, dedicated to helping churches and families carry out the mandate to “care for orphans and widows.”

As the organization looks forward to future ministry, Daly laid out a bold challenge: “Today’s population is more savvy than ever, and more globally connected. This means that in order to build a relationship with them, we must do so more strategically than ever. We have to go where the need exists and speak in ways that will open the ears of those who will hear and respond.”

This renewed call to family ministry expands Focus on the Family’s outreach efforts. In addition to radio and television broadcasts, book and magazine publishing, the organization is finding new outlets for its message. Daly is a regular panelist for The Washington Post/Newsweek blog, “On Faith.” The ministry has also branched into the online world with a family-friendly Web forum and regular webcasts. In 2010, Focus launched a weekly, one-hour, interactive, live webcast, “Your Family Live!”

In order to reach a broader audience, Focus on the Family also leverages various forms of social media, including its new Facebook page – – which offers users advanced interactivity and functionality and a presence on Twitter. In addition, Jim Daly maintains a blog, “Finding Home,” featuring exclusive content about the Focus president as he travels the nation and raises his own two boys alongside his wife, Jean.

Though time and technology have changed how Focus on the Family communicates, one thing remains the same – Focus’ commitment to invite people to become a part of God’s family.
