The recent violence in Orissa, India, resulted in the death of Christians, destruction of Christian churches, and the burning and destroying of the homes of many believers in Christ. Because of the threat of continued violence by anti-Christian fanatics, it has been difficult for these people to rebuild their lives.
Now, Gospel for Asia wants to help in the reconstruction of churches, homes, and lives. And you can be a part. If a church in your neighborhood burned to the ground, many Christians all around would step in to help. That is what we are asking you to do now.
In June and July, GFA is mounting its Orissa Reconstruction Campaign. A church can be rebuilt for $11,000, a home for just $2,500. While these are not like the home or church structure you and I are blessed with, it meets the needs of the believers in Orissa. National Religious Broadcasters is privileged to come along side Gospel for Asia in encouraging you and your station to be a part of this campaign.
NRB President Dr. Frank Wright commented, "I have been in India and seen the great work of Gospel for Asia. I have met committed pastors and Christian leaders who serve under difficult circumstances. I hope you will prayerfully consider helping GFA bring hope and encouragement to believers in Orissa, to maintain a strong witness for Christ in that troubled area."
Stations will be supplied with special web site banners, personalized web pages, and a special toll-free number specific to the station. Spots and interviews from Dr. K. P. Yohannan, president and founder of Gospel for Asia, will also be available to stations taking part in the campaign.
The opportunity to help will soon be over. The impact of your help will last for all eternity.
