Many are surprised to learn that Indonesia is the largest Muslim nation in the world, with over 200 million people professing Islam. The powerful Word of God needs to saturate the 7,000 inhabited islands of Indonesia, and Christian radio is a powerful tool to do just that.
Far East Broadcasting Company is assisting in doubling the opportunities for Christian teaching and preaching in key cities using radio. The Indonesian government now puts limits on the percentage of teaching a station may carry. The answer in many cities is to add an AM station to serve alongside an existing Christian FM station in these areas.
Funds are needed for the purchase of land, the construction of towers, antennae, and studios, and the purchase of a transmitter and other broadcast equipment.
COST: $72,700 to $160,000. Overall project: $1.5 million.
