Help Bring Relief to the People of Haiti
With emerging technology comes great opportunity to reach out to those in need. In a unique partnership with MPower Giving and the Mobile Giving Foundation, NRB has arranged for an extraordinary and timely mobile giving campaign to raise humanitarian relief funds for those suffering in the aftermath of the massive earthquake in Haiti. While there are scores of organizations providing goods and services, the unique quality of the organizations involved in this outreach is that they also bring the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Mobile Giving Campaign: NRB Haiti Relief Fund
Listeners to NRB member broadcast stations can make a ten dollar ($10.00) donation to the relief efforts in Haiti by simply using their mobile phones to text the word “HAITI” to 40579. Those participating will receive a confirmation text message in reply and, once confirmed, will have a $10 donation added to their mobile phone service statement. A total of three such donations from any one cell phone per month can be made using this procedure.
NRB will remit all funds raised, except for a small $.50 administrative expense per donation, (which goes to the service provider) to major humanitarian aid organizations with an established presence or unique expertise in Haiti. The non-profit NRB member organizations receiving funds will be:

We are asking that NRB broadcasting members bring public attention to the special disaster relief effort that our association is spearheading. All NCEs first must apply for a waiver either under Section 73.503 (d) or 73.621(e), whichever is appropriate. (As a result of contacts by NRB President & CEO Frank Wright with the FCC, the Commission’s Media Bureau has agreed to expedite waiver applications, which can be accessed at: http://www.fcc.gov/mb/haiti_relief_efforts.pdf. Other stations do not need to apply for a waiver to participate.
Please prepare to participate in this timely expression of Christian compassion for the hurting people in the earthquake-ravaged nation of Haiti. Everyone knows the need in Haiti. Through this outreach, your listeners can give with confidence; and know that their donations will bring substantial material relief, along with the hope that only the Gospel can bring.
This mobile giving campaign is now fully operational and ready to receive donations immediately.
