DR. DEL TACKETT, author, architect, and teacher for The Truth Project; co-host of Cross Examine, Coral Ridge Ministries

Del Tackett

Del Tackett is the Senior Correspondent and On-Air Personality for Coral Ridge Ministries, developing and hosting the upcoming new television show Cross Examine designed to use the stories of life around us to teach a biblical worldview. He is also an adjunct professor at New Geneva Theological Seminary and Summit Ministries and teaches at the Focus Leadership Institute.  Up until recently, Del was Senior Vice President of Focus on the Family and President of the Focus Leadership Institute. Del served over 20 years in the United States Air Force and served at the White House during the George H. W. Bush administration where he was appointed by President Bush as the Director of Technical Planning for the National Security Council.  Following his service at the White House, he served in various senior analyst and manager capacities at Kaman Sciences Corporation and ITT Industries.  He is an ordained elder in the Presbyterian Church in America.  He received his B.S. from Kansas State University, M.S. from Auburn University, and a Doctor of Management from Colorado Technical University.

 

BRITT BEEMER, Chairman, America’s Research Group; co-author of Already Gone: Why your kids will quit church and what you can do to stop it

In 1979, Beemer founded America’s Research Group, a full-service consumer behavior research and strategic marketing firm.  Recognized nationally as a premier marketing strategist, Britt Beemer has gained wide acclaim for his work on how, when and why consumers select their products and services.  He is the author of Predatory Marketing, a book on strategic marketing.  His second book, It Takes A Prophet To Make A Profit, is about emerging trends of the millennium.  The Customer Rules, published September 2008, details how customer focused businesses win.  Britt Beemer’s expertise covers each phase of survey research including questionnaire design, sample construction, and data analysis, but especially interpretation.  He serves as the senior director of research at America’s Research Group, where he personally reviews all research and prepares and presents each strategic marketing plan.

Heidi Campbell

Heidi Campbell’s media consulting firm, RealVision LC, conducts research for media organizations in the areas of convergent media, communication effectiveness, audience research, and religious effects of Christian broadcasting. While a professor and department chair of the Radio and Television Broadcasting department at Bob Jones University, she taught undergraduate and graduate courses in broadcast communications, media research and media management. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in Mass Communications at the University of South Carolina. Heidi serves as a committee member for the Intercollegiate National Religious Broadcasters, is chair of the iNRB Academic Innovation Exchange conference and was the recipient of the 2008 NRB Research Grant.  Heidi is married to Chace Campbell, and they are expecting their first child.

As a pioneer in the field of research, Dr. Arnie Cole has spent most of his professional life tracking trends of human behavior and developing programs that can actually help change those behaviors.  In his current position as CEO of Back to the Bible and Director of R&D for the Center for Bible Engagement (CBE), Dr. Cole spearheads the operation of both domestic and international Bible teaching ministries as well as the development of media-driven discipleship/Bible engagement tools . Dedicated in his mission of leading people into a dynamic relationship with Jesus Christ through daily Bible engagement, Dr. Cole is particularly passionate about teaching people how to learn to feed themselves spiritually. Dr. Cole holds both a BA & an MA in Psychology, as well as a Doctor of Education in Institutional Management from Pepperdine University.

 

DR. PHIL COOKE, Founder and Creative Director, Cooke Pictures

Phil Cooke

Phil Cooke is a writer, speaker, filmmaker, & media consultant whose work focuses on creating personal and organizational cultures where real change happens and creative ideas become reality.  Christianity Today magazine calls him a ''media guru,'' and his media company, Cooke Pictures, advises many of the most innovative churches & media ministries in the world.  As a founding partner in the commercial production company TWC Films, he also produces national advertising for some of the largest companies in the country, including two TV commercials for Super Bowl 2008.  His books and online blog at philcooke.com are changing the way religious organizations use the media to tell their story.  He's lectured at universities including Yale, University of California at Berkeley, UCLA, and is an adjunct professor at the King's College & Seminary, and Biola University in Los Angeles.

Jennifer Epperson

Jennifer Hayden Epperson graduated summa cum laude in French literature and music from Wheaton College, Norton, MA, and received her Master’s in broadcast management from Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC. She is currently pursuing doctoral studies in organizational leadership at Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL. In 1987, she began her service in broadcasting at WARV, Warwick, RI. Since then, she has been the station manager of WFIF, Milford, CT, and is currently the station manager of Moody Radio South Florida in Boynton Beach. Jennifer has also served as the executive producer and host of Trans World Radio’s “Women of Hope” program. As an adjunct professor at Palm Beach Atlantic University, West Palm Beach, FL, she was able to share her love of Christian radio with the emerging generation. She and her husband Jack live in Wellington, FL.

John Fuller is vice president of Audio and New Media at Focus on the Family and co-host of the daily Focus on the Family broadcast. He leads the team that produces more than a dozen Focus programs reaching millions of listeners around the world. A media veteran of more than 30 years, John writes and speaks about creativity, media trends, influential leadership, excellence, and social media. As a father of six, he writes and speaks about strong marriages and effective parenting. John has a M.A. from the University of Northern Colorado, and he and his wife, Dena, are also advocates for orphan care and adoption.

Joe Lenski is co-founder and Executive Vice President of Edison Research.  Since founding Edison Media Research in 1994, Joe has overseen hundreds of research projects each year for some of the world's largest media companies, conducting survey research and providing strategic information to radio stations, television stations, newspapers, cable networks, record labels, Internet companies and other media organizations.  Joe is currently Associate Secretary-Treasurer of the American Association for Public Opinion Research (AAPOR) and has served on the NYAAPOR Executive Council in 2004-2005 as Associate Program Chair, in 2005-2006 as Program Chair, in 2008-2009 as Vice President, and in 2009-2010 as President. Joe is a graduate of Princeton University and studied at the Annenberg School for Communication at the University of Pennsylvania.

Bob Lepine is known to Christian radio listeners across the country as the co-host of the popular daily radio program, FamilyLife Today™ with Dennis Rainey.  He is the author of numerous articles and books, including The Christian Husband and Helping Your Children Know God.  A veteran of Christian radio, Bob serves as the Vice President of Content and the Chief Creative Officer at FamilyLife.  Bob has helped FamilyLife develop eight different radio programs that reach a weekly audience of nearly nine million people.  Bob is a member of the Board of Directors for the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB).  Bob and his wife, Mary Ann, have been married since 1979, and they have five children.

 

DR. MICHAEL LINK, Chief Methodologist/VP Methodological Research, The Nielsen Company

Michael W. Link, Ph.D., is Chief Methodologist/VP for Methodological Research. He has a broad base of experience in survey research, having worked in academia (University of South Carolina, 1989-1999), not-for-profit research (RTI International, 1999-2004), and government (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2004-2007) before joining The Nielsen Company. Dr. Link’s research efforts focus on developing methodologies for confronting the most pressing issues facing measurement science, including improving participation and data quality, use of multiple modes in data collection, obtaining participation from hard-to-survey populations, and developing electronic measurement methodologies to supplement or replace self-reports. His numerous research articles have appeared in leading scientific journals.

Kn Moy has over two decades of experience as a marketing strategist, a full complement of leading industry awards and the respect of peers around the country. Kn leads the Masterworks team that is responsible for driving innovation through technology integration in order to help clients achieve better, faster, and more sustainable results. Today he leads efforts at Masterworks to redefine constituent loyalty through the passionate belief that the experiences that donors have can transform them into lifelong advocates. Kn joined Masterworks in 1996, and two years later launched HighPoint Solutions. While at HighPoint Solutions, he pioneered integrated, multi-channel marketing strategies for clients. Prior to that, Kn was a leader in World Vision’s creative resources department for 12 years and also the Chief Creative Officer and Senior Strategist for the largest direct marketing agency working with nonprofit organizations in the U.S.

Dr. Pamela Caudill Ovwigho serves as the Director of Research for the Center for Bible Engagement. She received her B.A. in Psychology from Pennsylvania State University and went on to receive her Ph.D. in Human Services Psychology from the University of Maryland Baltimore County. She has 14 years of experience in public policy research and brings her experience in consulting, teaching, mentoring and research to the CBE’s mission to encourage Bible reading and Bible study.

Dirk Rinker is President and CEO of Campbell Rinker, a firm that concentrates on marketing research for the non-profit world.  Dirk has been active in the areas of donor research and direct marketing analysis since 1983.  He has been with Campbell Rinker for ten years, helping clients understand and act on the attitudes, behavior and preferences of their most vital constituencies.  His efforts have aided the fundraising, branding and donor communications strategies of hundreds of organizations, including Focus on the Family, Campus Crusade, Back to the Bible, The Alternative, Turning Point, FamilyLife, Coral Ridge Ministries, Crown Financial Ministries, World Vision US, and many others.  Dirk earned his BA in Advertising with honors from San Jose State University.  He speaks frequently at conferences for non-profits on marketing research and direct marketing topics.

 

RON SELLERS, President, Grey Matter Research

Ron Sellers is the grey matter behind Grey Matter Research & Consulting (formerly Ellison Research) of Phoenix, AZ. Mr. Sellers has twenty-three years of experience in the marketing research field. During his career, Mr. Sellers has served nearly 100 different ministries and non-profits. Mr. Sellers is accomplished at both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, with particular experience in the Christian community. His work has been covered internationally, by media in the United States, China, Canada, the Philippines, New Zealand, Sweden, Norway, Australia, Korea, Russia, and Hungary. He is also the author of dozens of articles in a variety of industry publications. His background includes stints as a television sportscaster and radio personality. He has a degree from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he managed the university’s radio station.

 

DR. GREGORY SMITH, Senior Researcher, The Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life

Gregory A. Smith is a senior researcher at the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life, specializing in survey research, religion and public opinion, religion and American politics and Catholic politics. Greg holds a Ph.D. in government from the University of Virginia. His doctoral dissertation on the influence of priests on the voting behavior and political attitudes of American Catholics won the 2006 Aaron Wildavsky Award, which is given by the American Political Science Association for the best dissertation in religion and politics. His book, Politics in the Parish: The Political Influence of Catholic Priests, was published by Georgetown University Press in 2008. Previously, Greg was a fellow at the University of Virginia Center on Religion and Democracy. Greg is also a contributor to the Encyclopedia of American Political Parties and Elections. His work has appeared in the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion and has been presented at national and regional conferences.

 

DR. PAUL VIRTS, Senior Vice President for Media, Northwestern Media

Dr. Paul Virts is Senior Vice President for Media at Northwestern College/Northwestern Media.  He is responsible for oversight of Northwestern’s 16 owned and operated radio stations and one satellite radio network with a staff of 110 employees.  Prior to joining Northwestern’s radio network, Paul was the Chief Operating Officer of Leading The Way with Dr. Michael Youssef, an international radio and TV ministry.  He has also served as a vice president for development at The King’s College, New York, and professor of broadcasting at Regent University.  Paul was also a researcher, administrator and consultant with Daystar Communications, Nairobi, Kenya.  He is an ordained minister and holds graduate degrees in communication from the University of Iowa and Wheaton College, an undergraduate degree from the University of Nebraska and a diploma in Bible from Prairie Bible College.
